Multimodal AI for Human Communication
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Integrated Vision & Language Lab at KAIST, supported by the Jang Young Sil Postdoctoral Fellowship. I received my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from KAIST in 2026, advised by Prof. Yong Man Ro.
I build multimodal AI that understands speech from both sound and lip movements, with a focus on making communication accessible across languages and efficient in real time. My work spans visual and audio-visual speech recognition and diffusion language models for efficient decoding, and extends to memory and reasoning for understanding context over time.
